A few years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). As a dietitian I had good knowledge of how diet can help control symptoms of PCOS but since then have learnt lots more and come to realise that lifestyle measures are just as important as medical intervention.
I follow a low GI diet and do lots of exercise to try to keep my blood glucose and insulin levels steady. Now that I am getting the hang of it its easy to follow and I have found so many low GI alternatives that I don’t miss the potatoes, baguettes and biscuits at all!
