I’ve been a Fussy Foodie since 2009. At the time, I was suffering from a number of symptoms – mainly fatigue, headaches and digestive issues such as bloating. I was sure that my symptoms were linked to the foods I was eating – it turned out I was correct and my food intolerance tests revealed issues with wheat, dairy and eggs.
Although sticking to a diet which excludes various items is challenging at times, I think that there have been a huge number of benefits. I feel healthier than I ever have before and I now eat an extremely varied diet full of things I’d never even have thought to have tried in the past.
Over time, I’ve managed to reintroduce eggs back into my diet and I can also tolerate small amounts of wheat and dairy again (if I’m careful!). I still tend to stick to my free-from diet 99% of the time but I am glad to have a little freedom when it comes to things like eating out. Learning to manage reintroduced foods was more difficult than I expected but I think I’ve finally found a good balance!
