The first step food intolerence test has arrived – thought it might be today and when I heard a louder than normal bump from the post arriving I ran to check and there it was. All packaged up in a green box almost like a mini first aid kit.

At this stage I was feeling no apprehension and was pretty gun ho about doing the test. So I unpackaged everything and took out the instructions…
Food intolerance test steps
The slightly large blob of blood I think is what started my decline. However online not a million miles from here Fellow Fussy Foodie Claire was also opening her test and going for it. So it was at this point I had to brave it, you literally have to use this mini popper that inserts a tiny weeny lance into your finger tip and breaks the surface to make you bleed. Lets just say, I am a complete wally and it didn’t really hurt at all, so if you are doing this test just go for it!
Once you have the drop of blood, a special stick sucks up all the blood ready to be used as a sample by YORKTEST.

So the Food Intolerence test is back now in the post off to YORKTEST labs to carry out their Food Intolerance blood tests. Really intrigued to see what it comes back with.

I have been looking into different food allergy tests for a year or so now but haven’t found one I felt completely comfortable with, until I heard about this through Miranda and her friend.
In receiving the test this morning, I was a little more ‘get it over and done with’ as I knew the more I thought about it, the more I’d talk myself out of it. However, when it came down to it, I was a little more hesitant and didn’t apply quite the right amount of pressure on my first attempt. As I result I didn’t have enough blood and so needed to do a second click to compensate – poor finger!!!
It doesn’t hurt much, a small pinch if anything so there’s nothing to be worried about, and it’s all for a good cause. My advice would be, go for it with confidence on your 1st attempt and you’ll be fine.
I cannot wait to hear the results!
p.s I am chuckling as I type this as I’m trying to type with my plastered finger in the air, hehe! It’s quite a talent!
Food test update – my first set of results have come back positive, showing I definitely have food intolerances. I have now upgraded my test to find out which foods I’m intolerant too. Results in a week!
I also got my results back as a positive for Intolerence. So called to get more info etc and will boko the proper test later this week.
Interestingly they say that 75% of people with the inital test come back as positive. With the top culrpits being grains and dairy so no suprises there really.
Top tip.. if you book more that one test they (YORKTEST) will give you a discount so make sure you ask.
