If you have never made homemade popcorn you are in for a treat and especially when you find out how easy it is. All you need is a packet of popcorn (dried maize kernels for popping) and a drop of oil and you are off.
In a large pan add a small amount of oil to cover the base then cover the base of the pan with the popcorn kernels. Remember each kernel will pop so you will end up with a huge volume of popcorn compared to how many kernels you add to the pan.
Pop a lid on the pan and turn up the heat, once the oil heats the popping will start. Turn down the heat and gently wiggle the pan so that none of the popcorn burns and you move things around. Once the popping slows down you are ready to serve your homemade popcorn.
Serve your homemade popcorn sweet or sour – I did mine with a cheeky squeeze of agave nectar.
