Barbecue Beans

Posted on Mon Aug 2009 by Laura

These barbecue beans are a doddle to make and have gone down really well this weekend, when we actually managed to have two sunny barbecues (in England!). I call them barbecue beans not due to the flavour but because they are a fantastic barbecue side dish.

These barbecue beans taste great hot or cold with a barbecue or as a jacket potato topping. They freeze well too (if…you have any left-over).

Laura – I see you got the smoked paprika on the scene – do you think its worth getting some in? PS These sound great!

oh yes, the smoked paprika is a wonderful flavour. It seems to be popping up in recipes everywhere lately so not surprising Waitrose had sold out. But luckily Darren spotted one in the wrong compartment so I snapped it up!

Can thoroughly recommend the smoked paprika – we use loads of it! Really nice stirred into homemade coleslaw (made with free-from mayo of course!)

Hi Laura – I made a batch of your barbecue beans last night and they are delicious! I enjoyed them even more earlier today cold for my lunch with some salad. Great recipe – thank you for sharing it!
