Last week a special envelope finally arrived containing my food intolerance test results. Having been on a restrictive diet Free From: Wheat, Potato, Sugar, Dairy and Yeast I was kind of prepared. However when I opened the envelope I was initial a little shocked, good news was I was right about having food intolerances as this had only been self diagnosed, bad news was there were even more foods I can’t have given the results from my food intolerance test results.

After the initial horror at now also being on a gluten free and egg free diet. A few days later I got my head around it all. Sadly lots of new wheat free recipes I invented are out as they contain rye (gluten), spelt (gluten) or eggs. So the bread maker I got for Christmas is sadly now out for me, unless I come up with some new ideas.

So in summary my food intolerance results were:

  • Cashew
  • Cows Milk – so best to avoid any cows milk and sheep’s milk products
  • Egg Whites
  • Yeast
  • Egg Yolk
  • Gluten (Gliadin) – avoid wheat, rye, barley
  • Oily Fish Mix – Herring, Mackerel, Sardine etc
  • Tuna

So lots of learning now required for some new free from recipes. After my initial doom and gloom I am now back into the swing of things with lots of new recipes to share.

Getting the test results also made me think how scary it must be for people that have never had a food intolerance before as knowing where to start can be a nightmare. This has made me even more determined to get more ideas and info on Fussy Foodie.

The food intolerance test results included some advice and guidance which I will share on Fussy Foodie over the coming weeks.
